Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the Count It Up app ("we," "us") handles information. By using the app you agree to this policy.

Information we handle

Inventory data you create. Sections, item names, UPCs, quantities, and shopping-list items are stored on your device (and in your personal iCloud backup if enabled). We do not upload or store this on our servers.

Camera images (AI Scan). When you use AI Scan, photos you capture are sent to our server and to Google's Gemini API solely to identify the items in them. The images are processed to generate results and are not retained by us after processing. Do not scan anything you don't want processed this way.

Recipe requests (Pro). When you use Recipes, the list of item names in your inventory is sent to our server and Google's Gemini API to generate recipe suggestions. We do not retain this list after processing.

Subscription information. Purchases are handled by Apple. We receive your subscription's status and its original transaction identifier from Apple's StoreKit. We use the transaction identifier only to enforce a monthly usage limit on AI features. We do not receive your name, email, or payment details.

What we do NOT do

Third parties

Data retention

Inventory stays on your device until you delete it or the app. Images and recipe requests are processed transiently and not stored by us. We keep a per-subscriber monthly usage count (tied to the subscription's transaction ID, not your identity) to enforce fair-use limits; it resets monthly.

Children

Count It Up is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
